Darrell Cain gives a series of successful financial lectures to dental professionals.

1984
The Darrell W. Cain CPA Firm specializes in supporting dentists and dental practices, built on a foundation of client education and a “3to1” wealth accumulation philosophy.

1985
Darrell shares his financial education through audio cassettes.

1986
The team adds dental practice transitions as a new line of business and creates more opportunities for clients to maximize financial potential.

The firm adds its first investment platform.

1991
Mike Watters is named partner.

1993
The firm moves to its storied “Peterson Lane” office near Dallas’ north tollway corridor where it would remain for 19 years.

1994
To further equip clients and practice owners with valuable financial education, the firm begins offering on-site practice transition and wealth accumulation seminars.

1997
The 3to1 Foundation, a charitable organization, is established, expanding the reach of CWA’s founding philosophy of being financial educators.

2001
Recognizing a need to support doctors looking to buy or sell a dental practice, CWA creates its first affiliate business, NDP. Later, followed by Tectonic Advisors, Elite, and 7 Pillars.

The firm transitions from promoting financial literacy via audio cassette tapes to CDs.

A key group of senior planning team members join Mike and Darrell as equity partners.

CWA relocates to Legacy Tower Two office in Plano, Texas.

The firm publishes
the first edition of

2018
Continuing to seek new ways to teach and promote financial literacy, CWA launches the Accumulating Wealth podcast.

While dental practices nationwide were forced to close, CWA remained open, helping clients and the dental community navigate uncertain times via daily emails, webinars, podcasts and virtual meetings.

2022
Construction begins on the firm’s new location at the 91-acre Star District in Frisco, Texas.

2023
CWA adds two new equity partners to the leadership team. The firm moves into the new Frisco location, and hosts the 31st Annual Meeting on campus to celebrate the event.

2024
CWA celebrates its 40th anniversary and a defining historical moment by acquiring CFO Ortho, a respected dental accounting firm.
