Each year the CWA Annual Meeting brings financial planners and clients together for a non-traditional, entertaining CWA experience. The 2017 annual meeting weekend was filled with rich content and entertainment in the Ritz-Carlton in New Orleans.
Guest speakers Michael Hall with Culture Index and Danielle DiMarino Booth from Money Strong, LLC added a little variety and brought unique expertise to the conference. The weekend also featured team iLuminate from America’s Got Talent for a light show on Friday morning.
A CWA-sponsored parade marched down Bourbon Street, with police escorts in tow and a local marching band. Planners and clients alike were given Mardi Gras-themed masks, hats and boas to wear while throwing beads to their onlookers all the way from the Ritz to the Bourbon Vieux Balcony Party.
The 3to1 Foundation hosted its Crescent City Celebration and Gala at the well-known August restaurant. Award-winning Chef John Besh served the four-course meal before the live auction, which raised a total of $64,000. Proceeds from the event support the Foundation’s adult and high school financial education initiative, a total of $17,650 is dedicated solely for its scholarship program.
“The Annual Meeting is a special time to meet with clients outside of our usual office to answer questions and have a good time,” CWA Financial Planner Chase Thomas said.
