As the 3to1 Foundation concludes another year of working with high schools in the Dallas area, it’s seminars and scholarship initiatives are receiving great feedback from both students and faculty.
During the 2017-18 school year the Foundation, a philanthropic organization that serves the community through financial education, hosted interactive seminars for high school students based upon its Accumulating Wealth Seminar. Students were introduced to budgeting and goal setting, investment foundations, personal tax basics, and general wealth accumulation concepts presented by CWA professionals.
A head start at saving for college
Last month, CWA and the 3to1 Foundation presented awards to the students who wrote the three best essays in the Richest Man in Babylon essay contest. The Richest Man in Babylon, a book by George S. Clason, dispenses commonsense financial advice through a collection of parables set in ancient Babylon. The contest participants read the book and wrote an essay sharing the ‘law of gold’ that impacted them the most, as well as personal accounts of how they will apply this lesson to their lives. The essays were raw and personal, expressing the aspirations and goals of this strong body of youth. The first, second and third place winners received monetary gift certificates.
The Foundation’s seminars are not just for students. Since its inception, hundreds of CWA clients, employees, their families and dental practice staff members have attended the Accumulating Wealth Seminar to obtain tools to help successfully manage their finances for long term success. The next seminar is May 31, 2019. To attend yourself or give the gift to someone you care about, register for the 2019 seminar here.
