Tom received a Bachelor of Arts in accounting and a Master of Science in taxation from Baylor University. His career started at Deloitte, where he specialized in personal and corporate tax planning, including several international assignments to Saudi Arabia.

Tom joined Cain Watters and Associates in 2002 as an associate planner to Mike Watters, eventually taking over the primary planning responsibilities for Mike’s client base. Tom became a partner of the firm in 2008. He is also partner in charge of the tax department.

He is a Certified Public Accountant and an Investment Advisor Representative. He holds memberships with of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Texas Society of CPAs and the Dallas Society of CPAs.

Tom and his wife, Kristen, are the proud parents of their son, Zach. His yellow lab, Murphy, is named for the old Jack Murphy Stadium in San Diego, his hometown.
